2016-09-02-Blakesburg-IA-AAA-flyin: Annual Antique Aviation Association's Blakesburg, Iowa flyin, Aug 31, 2016 - Sep 05, 2016. This is a small, private flyin to a small, private airport. This is a grass field, with a N-S airstrip during the flyin. They close the smaller, E-W strip during the flying and use it for camping and parking. There were about 300 airplanes that flew in, and airplane camping/parking was just about full. There were about 2000-3000 people thru the gates each day, it was difficult to tell. The daily pilot/flight briefing had about 150 pilots, most of whom gave airplane flights in their airplanes. No ATC, no radios, flagmen with green and red flags on the ground to direct traffic. I feel very fortunate to have been invited to this... WX was bad for flying to and from Colorado, so I drove this time... next year, fly the Cessna 140!
