2015-04-21-Sun-N-Fun-Lakeland-FL: Sun-N-Fun (SnF), April 21-26, 2015, Lakeland-Linder Airport (KLAL), Lakeland, FL. Jack, Phil, Harlan and Jer/ and an excellent adventure at SnF, where we went to Jack Browns Seaplane Base (F57) at Winter Haven, FL, in the morning for an hour of seaplane flying in Piper SeaCubs (Piper J-3S) for FAA SeaWings refresher. We perused the vendors and exhibitors at SnF during the day, watched the afternoon airshow and met for beers at an on-base hangout. :-) We went to the Friday night airshow... that is correct: an airshow at night. Well lighted airplanes, helicopters, light sport and gliders... with fireworks. Wow! The last day, Monday, Harlan arranged for each of us to fly the Carbon Cub (CC11-160) at South Lakeland Airport (X46). Wow... a light sport aircraft with excellent short field performance. On the way back to Tampa Airport (KTPA) for our flight home, we found what we thought was a Cuban Restaurant, that turned out to be Columbian instead... interesting, because Jack had just returned from Guatemala, and knew the difference!
